beyoncé's reign has resumed -- or has it? Earlier today, a snippet of what's rumored to be the first single off Beyoncé's upcoming fourth album leaked. (Listen via SomeKindofAwesome)
The official title has yet to be announced but it's allegedly "Girl" or "Girls (Who Run the World)," and this even shorter snippet that also leaked today finds Beyoncé singing those exact words. Listen:
The track samples Major Lazer's "Pon de Floor." Diplo, one-half of the dancehall duo, has reportedly been in the studio with Beyoncé working on the new set.
We took a shot at decoding the lyrics to Bey's girl-power anthem:
"…Love it how we're smart enough to make these millions, strong enough to bear the children, then get back to business/Please, you better not play me. Oh come here, baby/Hope you still like me, if you pay me."
Earlier this week, the 29-year-old was spotted in the Mojave Dessert in California, allegedly on the set of the Francis Lawrence-directed video for "Girl" (or "Girls (Who Run the World)." In the leaked stills, Beyoncé is seen with a strong hold on a red flag and wearing a towering gold headpiece. According to Sister to Sister, Beyoncé flew in 200 African dancers to Los Angeles for the dance sequence and is working with eight different choreographers.
